Is it seriously time for the JULY #2getherwearebetter linky? Although I love writing these posts, they creep up on me too quickly! This month is all about classroom improvements! If I had the money, I think I could easily redo my classroom each and every year. Buuuut, since I don’t have that kind of cash, I’m keeping the same theme and the changes minimal this year. In a bit of an excited state, I did leak this picture to Instagram earlier this week. Sorry, I just couldn’t wait all week! 🙂
Last year, I began doing Guided Math in my classroom. I wanted a table that I could use for small groups that was cute and stylish. I didn’t find anything so I settled for a U-Shaped table. It worked but didn’t fill “the look” that I wanted in my room. My aunt refinishes furniture and had been on the lookout for a new table and chairs for my room.
So after the beginning of school last year, my aunt stumbled upon these random four chairs. She set them aside just waiting for a table that was the right size and price.
Then, about a month ago, she found THIS! The size is perfect and the price was FREE! I’m pretty sure I couldn’t have asked for anything better. 🙂
She took a swatch of the wrapping paper that I used on my bulletin board in the background to Home Depot where they were able to color match the paint. She threw a fresh coat of bright blue paint on the chairs and table base. My favorite part of this table is the CHALKBOARD TABLE TOP! Now I really hate writing with chalk, but my students will definitely love it! I can’t wait to use this table for small groups next year.
*swoon* This table is FABULOUS. I love the idea of the chalkboard paint! The chairs are the perfect color. Love love loveeeee.
