I am ashamed to say that I have blogged for two years and have NEVER participated in Farley’s Currently! What have I been missing?! Anywho, here is my July Currently!
Listening to Bad Blood
I’m not ashamed to admit that I am currently listening to “Bad Blood” by Taylor Swift! I go through spells as to what my style of music is. Currently, it’s been a pop trend! I know….how old am I? My five year old enjoys many of the same songs and we love to sing together….not that it’s any good but that doesn’t stop us!
Loving Family Time
I am in love with all of the family time that I’m getting. My husband is also a teacher so all four of us are home every single day. Some days, we are swamped with little things but most days we are being lazy together. Yesterday we went geocaching! We didn’t find ANYTHING yet we had a really fun time. 🙂
Thinking of my To-Do List
I’ve been to my classroom twice, both for fairly short amounts of time. My furniture is in place and I don’t have a lot of big things to do. But I have several little things that will drive me crazy until I complete them. I also have a TpT list a mile long! I had such BIG plans for this summer but I’ll be honest, I haven’t tackled a lot of it. Ever feel like you’re busier when school is out? I’ve also been thinking of the many things that I need to knock out before Vegas next week!
Wanting to Stay Ahead
Although I could have been a little more productive this summer, I still feel like I’m ahead of the game. My bulletin boards are done, furniture is in place, and I’ve worked on a few changes that I’ll be implementing next year. I feel like although I’m not where I wanted to be, I’m still ahead. But how long will it last?!
Needing to go Grocery Shopping
It’s summer break and there are four people in this house all day, every day! Goodness gracious, we are constantly needing to go to the grocery store. Anyone else have the same problem? My three year old daughter is currently eating like a teenage boy. I’m not even kidding. While writing this, she had to run inside not once, not twice, but THREE times to get string cheese and she had just eaten lunch less than an hour before. I believe a growth spurt is in progress!
All Star Reader
Right now, I feel like an All Star READER!!! Throughout the school year, I just don’t have time to read for pleasure. I hear other teachers talk about what they are reading and I just can’t make it happen. I’m participating in two book studies, Learn Like a Pirate and Building Mathematical Comprehension. I’m also following along with Teaching with Intention! All three of these books are motivating me and helping me develop who I am as a teacher. I am reading “Inside Out” with my daughter and finished Jodi Picoult’s book “Leaving Time.” I also just started “Truth or Die” by James Patterson.

I've been an all star reader lately, too. I love love LOVE to read, but find myself falling behind during the school year. Thank goodness for summer vacations! 🙂
I am a new follower, I found you through Farley's Currently. Your blog is so cute!

Caffeine and Lesson Plans
Thanks, Mandy! I love the name of your blog. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for following along and enjoy your summer vacation!!! 🙂
I think a lot of us our thinking about our to-do lists already! I've only been on break for a little over a week and I already feel like I am behind. Such is the life of a teacher, I guess.
You mentioned that you were getting to read for pleasure now. I just finished reading The Martian by Andy Weir. Holy smokes! That book was crazy intense! It was made into a movie starring Matt Damon and it will be out later this year. If the movie is half as good as the book was, it will be incredible. I hope you enjoy your James Patterson.
I'll have to check out that book, Jonathan! I love crazy intense books that you just can't put down! 🙂 Have a great summer vacation!!! 🙂
I love that you're an All Star Reader! I wish I was one! With all the other fun things to do in the summer, I just forget I could be reading. All of those books sound wonderful, though! I hadn't even heard of Teaching with Intention, but that sounds awesome. I'll have to check it out when I'm done with my mile-long Reading List! 😉

Simply Magical Learning
To-Do lists are the popular thing for us teachers 🙂
I wish I was reading for pleasure, so jealous. I have so many PD books I want to read too, but I am drowning myself in the most awful "Exploring Research" textbook. Whoever said taking summer classes was a good idea, lied. I want to know how Leaving Time is though, I heard it was fantastic!!

Mrs. Thomas's Class
Ugh, exploring research?! I'm glad that's not me! I took this summer off from masters classes to focus on my family and TpT. I really should have taken a class or two but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I'm exhausted as it is. 🙂 Good luck!
FYI: Leaving Time was great. Without spoiling the ending, it didn't end how I wanted it to end but it was an interesting twist! 🙂
